Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 29: South Andaman has opened the application window for temporary licences to sell fireworks during Diwali 2026, with applicants required to use the Andaman and Nicobar Administration’s e-District Portal. The online application process will remain open from September 28 to October 12, and authorities will not accept offline or manual applications.
The Office of the District Magistrate, South Andaman, has informed the general public and all interested persons about the application process, directing prospective applicants to submit their applications through the designated online platform within the prescribed period.
Applicants must provide all required particulars and supporting documents while submitting their applications. The administration has stressed that applications must be completed within the stipulated window, making timely online submission essential for those seeking a temporary licence for retail fireworks sales during the festival.
The grant of a licence will depend on compliance with the prescribed regulatory requirements. These include licensing conditions as well as requirements relating to the proposed site, fire safety and electrical safety, along with other applicable statutory provisions.
Applications will also remain subject to approval by the competent authority. Submission through the e-District Portal, therefore, will form the required route for applying but will not by itself constitute approval of a temporary fireworks retail licence.
The District Magistrate’s office has urged all interested citizens to use the online facility and submit their applications with the requisite details and documents before the October 12 deadline.
