Diglipur Launches Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 Campaign With Focus on Waste Management and Sanitation

Date:

Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept.19:  Diglipur has launched the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2026 campaign, placing cleanliness, sanitation and responsible waste management at the centre of a sustained community effort to improve public and village surroundings.

The launch programme, held on 17 September, brought together the Pramukh, Block Development Officer (BDO), representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and Line Departments. The participating stakeholders called for cooperation across departments and stronger community involvement throughout the campaign.

The campaign will focus on practical cleanliness measures, including cleaning public places, removing accumulated waste and promoting proper segregation and disposal. It will also seek to discourage littering and strengthen awareness about sanitation and hygiene among residents.

Environmental awareness forms another key component of the campaign, with the programme stressing the need for citizens to take greater responsibility for maintaining clean and healthy surroundings. The emphasis on community participation seeks to make cleanliness a shared responsibility rather than an activity limited to government agencies.

Officials and representatives involved in the launch urged stakeholders to remain actively engaged during the campaign and encourage wider public participation. The initiative also highlights the role of coordinated action by PRIs, Line Departments and local communities in addressing cleanliness and sanitation concerns in villages and public spaces.

The SHS 2026 campaign in Diglipur will therefore centre on community-led participation, responsible waste handling, sanitation awareness and environmental cleanliness, with stakeholders being called upon to contribute collectively towards the broader vision of a clean and Swachh Bharat.
