Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 5: Teaching and non-teaching staff from various schools took part in a CRC-level volleyball tournament and tug-of-war competitions on September 4 as part of the Teachers’ Day celebrations, bringing school staff together through sporting events for both men and women.
The competitions featured teams representing different Cluster Resource Centres (CRCs), with participants competing in volleyball and tug of war across the two categories.
In the men’s volleyball final, CRC GSSS Mohanpura defeated CRC GSSS Garacharma to secure the title. CRC GSSS Model Aberdeen won the women’s volleyball competition after defeating CRC GSSS Manglutan.

The tug-of-war competitions saw CRC GSSS Model Aberdeen emerge victorious in both categories. The team defeated CRC GSSS Mohanpura in the men’s event and repeated the result in the women’s competition.
Trophies and medals were presented to the winning and runner-up teams representing the participating CRCs in recognition of their performances in the competitions.
The event also recognised the contribution of Physical Education faculty to sports activities. The District Education Officer, South Andaman, felicitated the faculty members with appreciation certificates and mementos for their contributions to the field of sports.
The competitions formed part of the Teachers’ Day programme and included participation from both teaching and non-teaching staff, with the sporting events providing the central activity of the celebration.
