Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 7: Eligible beneficiaries under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands have been asked to generate their Ayushman Cards by August 15, 2026, to ensure uninterrupted access to cashless treatment benefits under the flagship health insurance scheme. The appeal is aimed at Priority Household (PHH) and Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) ration card holder families who have not yet completed the card generation process.
The AB-PMJAY scheme was launched in the Union Territory on September 23, 2018, and provides eligible families with cashless health insurance coverage of up to Rs. 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary hospitalisation. The benefits can be availed at empanelled government and private hospitals across the country.

According to the advisory, all PHH and AAY ration card holder families in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are eligible to receive benefits under the scheme. However, beneficiaries who have not generated their Ayushman Cards have been requested to complete the process before the August 15 deadline to ensure they can access treatment without disruption whenever required.
The Ayushman Card serves as the key document for availing cashless healthcare services under the AB-PMJAY scheme. Authorities have urged eligible beneficiaries to complete the enrolment process well before the deadline to avoid any inconvenience in accessing healthcare services.
To facilitate card generation, beneficiaries have been provided with multiple options. Eligible individuals can generate their Ayushman Card through the Ayushman App, which is available on the Google Play Store. They may also visit their nearest Common Service Centre (CSC), the nearest health centre, or the AB-PMJAY Help Desk at G.B. Pant Hospital in Sri Vijaya Puram to complete the process.
Since its launch in the Union Territory in September 2018, the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana has continued to provide financial protection for eligible families by covering the cost of secondary and tertiary hospitalisation through a network of empanelled healthcare facilities. The latest appeal focuses on ensuring that all eligible beneficiaries complete Ayushman Card generation by August 15, enabling uninterrupted access to the scheme’s cashless health insurance benefits whenever medical care is required.
