A&N Art and Culture Dept Opens Short Film and Photo Contests to Promote Island Diversity

Date:

The Department of Art and Culture, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, has launched a short film contest and a photography competition aimed at promoting the islands’ history, heritage, and natural beauty. Open to all through an online format, the contests seek to capture the spirit of the archipelago while encouraging public participation in creative documentation.

Entries can be submitted until midnight on June 30, 2025, exclusively through the official portal andaman.mygov.in. No offline or alternate submission modes will be accepted. Each participant is allowed to submit only one entry per category.

Themes range from landscapes and composite culture to marine biodiversity, tourism, and sustainable practices. Participants are encouraged to showcase untold stories and unique perspectives on the islands’ flora, fauna, and built heritage. Submissions will be evaluated for storytelling, creativity, and visual impact.

The top three entries in each category, short film and photo, will receive certificates and recognition from the A&N Administration. Winners will also be rewarded at the Union Territory level, further incentivising quality participation.

The official competition guidelines and detailed submission requirements can be accessed at:

  • Photo Contest
  • Short Film Contest
  • The contests aim not just to engage artists and enthusiasts but to create a digital archive of creative works that reflect the Andaman and Nicobar Islands’ distinct identity, cultural diversity, and environmental richness.
