Tourism Department Invites MSMEs and Homestays to Apply for RAMP Support in Andaman

Date:

Sri Vijaya Puram, August 13: The Directorate of Tourism, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, has invited applications from eligible micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), homestay owners and staff, and individuals to avail benefits under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Tourism Interventions for 2026-27, aimed at strengthening tourism-related capacity and promoting specialised tourism initiatives in the Islands.

The applications have been invited under the Tourism Interventions, 2026-27, notified through Notification No. 242/2026 dated August 5, 2026, published in the Andaman and Nicobar Gazette (Extraordinary) No. 243 and carried in the Daily Telegrams newspaper on August 6.

The schemes announced under the initiative include a Training, Certification and Exposure Programme for Homestay Staff in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands to promote quality and sustainable tourism, and a programme to promote astro-tourism through financial support for the purchase of astro-tourism equipment.

Under the astro-tourism component, selected beneficiaries will be eligible to procure the required astro-tourism equipment, including telescopes, and submit claims for reimbursement of the approved subsidy in accordance with the scheme guidelines.

Homestay owners and staff selected under the programme will have the opportunity to participate in training programmes and exposure visits to top-performing homestays organised by the Directorate of Tourism. The initiative is intended to support capacity building under the notified scheme.

The Directorate has made the prescribed application forms, list of required documents and detailed guidelines available through the Andaman and Nicobar e-Gazette portal under Gazette No. 243 dated August 5, 2026.

To facilitate prospective beneficiaries, the Tourism Department will organise a registration and facilitation camp for applicants interested in availing assistance under the notified schemes.

The Directorate has invited expressions of interest from eligible beneficiaries for participation in the facilitation camp. Interested applicants have been asked to submit their willingness in the prescribed format to the Planning Section of the Directorate of Tourism, Andaman and Nicobar Administration.

The last date for submission of expressions of interest is August 20, 2026, by 5 p.m. Eligible MSMEs, homestay operators, staff members and individuals intending to avail benefits under the RAMP Tourism Interventions have been advised to complete the process within the stipulated deadline.
