Andaman Nicobar Book Fair Concludes

Sri Vijaya Puram: The ten-day Andaman Nicobar Book Fair, a joint initiative of the Art & Culture Department and the National Book Trust (NBT), concluded at the ITF Ground with an inspiring address by Chief Secretary Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, IAS. The fair drew a large crowd of book lovers, students, and literary enthusiasts.

Dr. Kumar applauded the efforts of NBT and the participating publishers for their commitment to promoting reading habits among Islanders. He emphasised the need to cultivate a love for books, especially among the younger generation, and highlighted the presence of libraries across the islands.

The fair featured 31 stalls with over 30,000 titles, including a Children’s Corner and VR experiences curated by IP&T. Artistes, educators, and resource persons were felicitated during the closing ceremony for their contributions. The event was widely appreciated for making quality literature accessible to the local population.
