Special Electoral Roll Revision Drive to Begin in Andaman & Nicobar Islands

Date:

The Election Commission of India will launch a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll in the Union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands from November 4, 2025. The exercise aims to ensure that all eligible voters are correctly included in the Draft Electoral Roll, which will be published on December 9, 2025.

As per the notification issued by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), all registered voters of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency as of October 27, 2025, are required to fill a new enumeration form as part of this special revision. To confirm their inclusion in the Draft Roll, voters must link their details with the previous SIR roll, either through their own name or their parent’s name.

The enumeration phase will take place from November 4 to December 4, 2025. During this period, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of the Election Commission will conduct up to three visits to each household to distribute pre-printed enumeration forms in duplicate. Every voter whose name is currently listed in the electoral roll must fill out and submit this form to ensure their name is included in the revised roll. No supporting documents are required during this phase.

The pre-printed enumeration forms will already contain details such as the voter’s name, EPIC number, address, part number, constituency name, and photograph. Voters are advised to verify these details carefully and fill in the remaining fields, including date of birth, Aadhaar number (optional), mobile number, parent’s name, and EPIC numbers. They may also attach a new photograph in the designated space if required.

A new section has been added to the enumeration form under this Special Intensive Revision. This section requires electors to trace their name or their parent’s name from the electoral roll of the last Intensive Revision conducted in 2002. The part-wise 2002 electoral roll is available in PDF format at https://www.ceoandaman.nic.in/election/E-ROLL-2002/default.htm, while a search feature to locate names has been made available on the CEO’s website at https://ceo.andamannicobar.gov.in/sir2002/.

Voters who have migrated from other States but are currently enrolled in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency must visit their respective State CEO’s website or the Election Commission of India’s portal (https://voters.eci.gov.in/) to trace or link their names or their parents’ names in the electoral rolls prepared during the last SIR of that State.

Once the required details are filled and linked to the previous SIR roll, voters should sign the form and keep it ready for collection. During the next visit, the BLO will collect the completed form and provide an acknowledgment receipt. BLOs will assist electors in filling up the forms wherever necessary. In case family members are not present, a senior member of the household may sign on their behalf.

The CEO has urged all electors to extend full cooperation to the BLOs during their house-to-house visits to ensure the accuracy of the revised electoral roll. The Election Commission reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that “no eligible voter is left out, and no ineligible person is included in the electoral roll.”
