Sri Vijaya Puram, June 3: The Andaman tourism industry marked a significant organisational milestone with the inauguration of a new office for the Andaman Association of Tour Operators, a development aimed at strengthening coordination among stakeholders and supporting the long-term growth of the sector in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The new office was formally inaugurated by K. Chandrasekaran, President of the Andaman Nicobar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who attended the event as the chief guest. The occasion brought together representatives from the tourism and business sectors, reflecting the close relationship between the islands’ tourism industry and the wider commercial community.
The event was also attended by special guests Mohammed Jadwet, Rakesh Pal Govind and Anup, whose participation was acknowledged by members of the association during the programme.
Addressing those present, M. Vinod described the inauguration as the fulfilment of a long-standing objective for the association. He stated that the new facility represents more than an administrative space and reflects the collective efforts of members who have worked towards strengthening the tourism sector in the islands.
Vinod credited current and former office bearers, executive committee members, association members, industry stakeholders, partners and well-wishers for their contribution to the achievement. He said the establishment of the office was made possible through sustained support, trust and cooperation from across the tourism fraternity.
According to the association, the new office is expected to function as a central platform for collaboration, coordination and industry engagement. It is intended to facilitate interaction among stakeholders while supporting initiatives aimed at promoting tourism and addressing sector-related concerns.
The inauguration comes as tourism continues to play a crucial role in the economy of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. AATO reiterated its commitment to fostering cooperation among tourism stakeholders and working collectively to support the sector’s continued growth and development.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Saikat Biswas, who expressed appreciation to the chief guest, special guests, members, well-wishers and all those involved in organising the event. He acknowledged the collective efforts of the association and reaffirmed its commitment to representing and serving the interests of the tourism industry in the islands.
With the opening of the new office, AATO has established a dedicated space to support industry engagement and strengthen its role in advancing tourism-related initiatives across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
