Aberdeen Police Solve ₹11 Lakh Gold Theft Case Within 24 Hours, Recover All Ornaments

A theft case involving gold ornaments worth approximately ₹11,00,000 was solved within 24 hours by the staff of Police Station Aberdeen, leading to the recovery of all stolen items and the arrest of the accused.

The case began when a complaint was lodged at Police Station Aberdeen regarding the theft of gold ornaments from a residence at Doctor’s Colony, Nayagaon. Following the complaint, a case was registered under the relevant sections of law. A team was immediately constituted to investigate and trace the stolen property.

The team, led by Sub-Inspector Mariam as the Investigating Officer, included Head Constable Sunil Singh Yadav and Police Constables K. Jairaj, Surender Singh Yadav, P. Mohd. Rafique, and K. Jagdish Babu. The officers began their investigation without delay, gathering information from the crime scene, interviewing witnesses, and following possible leads.

Through consistent efforts and careful inquiry, the team succeeded in identifying and apprehending the accused, Irshad Azad, 31, son of Shri Abdul Azad, a resident of Shadipur and an auto driver by profession. During the course of the investigation, all the stolen gold ornaments were recovered.

After recovery, the accused was produced before the Hon’ble Court, which remanded him to judicial custody. The entire investigation, from registration of the case to the arrest and recovery, was completed within a day.

The investigation was conducted under the supervision of Inspector Vishal Ram, Station House Officer, Police Station Aberdeen, and under the guidance of Ajay Kumar Rai, DANIPS, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), South Andaman. The operation took place under the overall supervision of Manoj Kumar Meena, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.

Police officials credited the success of the case to the prompt coordination between officers and their adherence to investigative procedures. The recovery of the stolen property and the swift apprehension of the accused reinforced the department’s focus on effective and timely law enforcement.

Authorities have urged the public to report any suspicious activities or instances of theft immediately to the nearest police station. They reiterated that timely reporting significantly assists in the recovery of stolen items and identification of offenders.

The South Andaman District Police continue to emphasize the importance of public cooperation in maintaining safety and preventing crime. The timely resolution of the Nayagaon theft case reflects the department’s ongoing commitment to ensuring security and accountability across the district.
