Sri Vijaya Puram, October 29: A public grievance camp in Diglipur addressed complaints involving basic services, infrastructure and land records, with the administration disposing of cases related to land subdivision, name correction and mutation on the spot. Residents and elected representatives also raised concerns over agriculture, electricity supply, road connectivity, drainage, transportation and public amenities.
The Revenue Camp Court-cum-Public Grievance Redressal Programme was held on 28 October at the Office of the Assistant Commissioner, Diglipur, under the initiative ‘Sampark Se Samadhan – Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore’. Deputy Commissioner of North and Middle Andaman district Sushant Padha led the programme in the presence of the Assistant Commissioner, Diglipur.
During the proceedings, representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and members of the public presented issues affecting their respective areas. Officers from various line departments attended the programme as the administration took up the concerns with the officials concerned.

Padha stressed the need for coordination among departments, prompt action and time-bound resolution of grievances. The issues raised covered both essential public services and local infrastructure, including electricity supply, road access, drainage and transportation, alongside agricultural concerns and demands relating to public amenities.
The Revenue Camp Court also took up land-related applications involving subdivision, correction of names and mutation of land records. Officials disposed of these cases at the venue, allowing applicants to obtain decisions without waiting for further proceedings on those matters.
Approximately 350 people attended the programme, including PRI representatives, heads of offices, departmental officials and members of the public. The participation brought residents, local representatives and officials from different departments together to raise and discuss issues requiring administrative attention.
The programme was organised to provide a direct channel for citizens to bring grievances before the district administration and seek resolution at the local level. Its proceedings covered both the disposal of specific revenue cases and complaints requiring coordination across departments.
While the land-related cases taken up at the camp were disposed of on the spot, the information released did not specify the number of applications resolved or the status of the other grievances raised. The resolution of those concerns will depend on the action taken by the departments responsible for the respective services and infrastructure.
Through the initiative, the district administration aims to facilitate access to public services and grievance redressal at the grassroots level.
