Andaman Administration Opens Five Khelo India Coaching Posts for Past Champion Athletes

Date:

Sri Vijaya Puram, October 28: The Andaman and Nicobar Administration has invited past champion athletes to apply for five coaching positions at Khelo India Centres across the islands, offering a monthly remuneration of ₹25,000 for contractual engagements lasting four to five years, subject to the continuation of the central scheme. The recruitment covers archery, athletics and football, with appointments distributed across Sri Vijaya Puram, Diglipur, Car Nicobar, Mayabunder and Campbell Bay.

The Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs (DSYA) is conducting the recruitment under the Khelo India Scheme of the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. The engagements will remain purely contractual, and the administration may extend them for the specified period depending on the continuation of the scheme by the ministry.

The five vacancies comprise one archery coach at Netaji Stadium in Sri Vijaya Puram, one athletics coach at Vivekananda Stadium in Diglipur, and three football coaches. The football positions are based at BJR Stadium in Car Nicobar, Netaji Sports Complex in Mayabunder and Mini Stadium in Campbell Bay.

Eligible candidates must submit applications in the prescribed format, Annexure-A, along with their signatures and self-attested copies of educational qualification certificates, sports achievement records, experience certificates and other relevant testimonials supporting their candidature.

The application window opens on October 28 and closes at 5 pm on November 9. The Directorate will not entertain applications received after the deadline.

Candidates can submit their applications in person at the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, Netaji Sports Complex, Sri Vijaya Puram–744101. They may also send applications by post or email them to ankheloindia2026@gmail.com.

The detailed recruitment notification, including eligibility requirements and the prescribed application form, is available on the Sports Department’s official website, https://sports.andamannicobar.gov.in, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands State Portal, https://andamannicobar.gov.in.

Applicants should consult the notification to confirm their eligibility and ensure that they include the required supporting documents before submitting their applications. The prescribed format and supporting records form part of the application requirements.

The recruitment seeks to engage former champion athletes as coaches at designated centres under the national sports scheme, with positions spread across different parts of the archipelago. The monthly remuneration is fixed at ₹25,000, while the four-to-five-year engagement period remains contingent on the central ministry continuing the Khelo India Scheme.
