Sri Vijaya Puram, October 26: The Sports Authority of India (SAI) is inviting girls aged 10 to 14 to compete for vacant residential football training slots at its Sri Vijaya Puram centre, offering selected players access to professional coaching and support under its residential scheme.
SAI’s Sports Training Centre (STC) in Sri Vijaya Puram will conduct the selection trials at Netaji Stadium at 9 am on October 28, 2026. The trials will focus on identifying talented young female footballers for induction into the centre’s residential programme.

The initiative provides eligible girls an opportunity to pursue structured sports training while receiving support for their accommodation, education and sporting requirements. Under the SAI Residential Scheme, selected athletes receive free lodging and boarding, sports kits, exposure to competitions, educational expenses and medical insurance, subject to applicable SAI norms.
Candidates seeking selection must attend the trials with their documents in original and one set of photocopies. The centre has asked interested participants to ensure they carry the required paperwork when reporting for the assessment.

For further information about eligibility, documentation and the selection process, candidates can contact Mohammed Sadique at SAI STC on 9531879321 or email saiandaman88@gmail.com. Enquiries can also be made through the centre’s Instagram account, @sai.andaman.
The trials will fill existing vacancies in the girls’ football discipline at the Sri Vijaya Puram centre. The residential scheme combines sports training with support for athletes’ living, educational and medical needs, subject to the authority’s prescribed rules.
