Sri Vijaya Puram, October 22: Aspiring photographers and videographers in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands will have access to an eight-day training and certification programme covering professional photography, drone imaging and video production, with sessions scheduled across three islands from October 26. The Department of Tourism will organise the programme in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Photography (IIP), Noida, under the RAMP Scheme.
The training will cover photography, videography, drone imaging, camera handling and post-production techniques. The curriculum also includes specialised sessions on underwater photography and astrophotography, bringing different forms of image-making within a single certification programme.
According to the Tourism Department, the first training session will begin on October 26 at the training hall of the Directorate of Disaster Management in Sri Vijaya Puram.

The programme will subsequently move to Swaraj Dweep, where training will commence on November 3 at the Community Hall in Shyam Nagar Panchayat.
The third session will begin on November 12 at the Community Hall near Murugan Temple, Neil Kendra, in Shaheed Dweep.
The department has also made arrangements for applicants from other parts of the Union Territory to participate in the programme at Sri Vijaya Puram.
Aspirants from Rangat, Mayabunder, Diglipur, Long Island and Campbell Bay who have already submitted applications have been invited to attend the session beginning on October 26.
These applicants will therefore need to travel to Sri Vijaya Puram to participate in the scheduled training rather than attend separate sessions in their respective locations.
The programme brings together technical instruction in conventional photography and videography with training in drone-based imaging and specialised photographic disciplines.
Applicants have been advised to confirm their participation with the Planning Section of the Department of Tourism at the earliest through the designated email address, tourismplanning2013@gmail.com.
The announcement specifies the starting dates and venues for the three island sessions but does not provide separate registration deadlines or details of additional training locations.
The Tourism Department has asked concerned applicants to complete their participation confirmation ahead of the scheduled sessions.
