Sri Vijaya Puram, October 5: Residents of Ferrargunj Old Age Home received essential support through a joint initiative by TSG Charitable Foundation and Calitribe Andaman, which combined a community meal with donations aimed at meeting the home’s day-to-day needs.
The organisations hosted a special lunch for the elderly residents and children with disabilities staying at the home. The programme also included the handover of a RO Purifier, Rice Grinder Machine and Adult Diapers, providing equipment and supplies for routine use and resident wellbeing.

TSG Charitable Foundation Chairman TSG Bhasker handed over the donated items to the home’s staff. The handover took place in the presence of Ferrargunj Pradhan Sunil Kumar, social worker Saji Varghese, Ward No. 14 Councillor Y. Joga Rao, Island Development Organisation District President Xavier, TSG Foundation Programme Coordinator Ameer Bax and social worker Eswar Rao.
The initiative brought attention to practical needs within an old age home while involving volunteers directly in the interaction with residents. Calitribe Andaman volunteers served lunch and spent time with the people staying at the facility during the programme.
The programme addressed both material requirements and direct participation, bringing donated household-use items, meal service and volunteer interaction together within a single community initiative at Ferrargunj home. The gathering included elderly residents and children with disabilities, with volunteers participating in the meal service and spending time with them. The donated equipment and supplies were handed over to the home staff for use in supporting routine requirements.
The programme concluded with residents, volunteers, staff and participants coming together for a shared meal and interaction. The organisers said the activity was intended to provide support to the home and create an opportunity for the volunteers to engage with its residents.
