TSG Foundation Reaches Patients, Elderly with Independence Day Community Drive

Sri Vijaya Puram, August 17: The TSG Charitable Foundation marked Independence Day by organising community outreach programmes in Diglipur, distributing fresh fruits to patients at the Community Health Centre (CHC), sweets to healthcare workers, and fruit kits and sweet boxes to residents of an old age and disabled persons’ home. The initiatives focused on extending support to patients, frontline medical personnel and vulnerable members of the community during the national celebrations.

The programmes were conducted under the direction of TSG Bhasker, Chairman of the TSG Charitable Foundation, as part of the organisation’s efforts to promote care and compassion through community service.

At the Community Health Centre, Diglipur, fresh fruits were distributed among patients admitted to the hospital, while sweets were presented to members of the medical staff in recognition of their services. The event was attended by Bijoy Kumar Das, Block Development Officer, Executive Officer and Tehsildar, Diglipur.

Senior medical professionals who participated in the programme included Dr. Helen Samuel, Chief Medical Officer of SDH Diglipur, Dr. Zaheena, Gynaecologist, Dr. Sharvani, Paediatrician, Dr. Hosanna, Anaesthetist, and Dr. Shipra Mistry, Medical Officer (Ayurveda). Several Panchayati Raj Institution members also joined the distribution of fruits to patients and sweets to healthcare personnel.

In a separate outreach initiative, the Foundation distributed fruit kits and sweet boxes among the inmates of St. Thomas Catholic Church’s Old Age and Disabled Persons Home in Diglipur. The programme formed part of the Foundation’s Independence Day observance and was aimed at reaching elderly and differently abled residents through a gesture of support.

The event at the residential home was coordinated by Ameer Bax, Programme Coordinator for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and P. Suresh, Coordinator for Diglipur Zone. They were assisted by Asit Bain, social worker, Ramchandran, former Pradhan, Anil Das, social worker, Ashok, social worker, and several other participants involved in the programme.

According to the Foundation, the initiative sought to celebrate Independence Day by reaching out to sections of society requiring care and support. Through its programmes at the healthcare facility and the residential home, the Foundation carried out activities centred on patient welfare, appreciation of healthcare workers and engagement with elderly and differently abled residents in Diglipur.
