ANIIMS Introduces Online OPD Appointments at G.B. Pant Hospital Through ORS Portal

Date:

Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 20: The Andaman & Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences (ANIIMS) has introduced an online OPD appointment facility at G.B. Pant Hospital, allowing patients to schedule appointments through the Government of India’s Online Registration System (ORS) before visiting the hospital. Initially, 10 online appointment slots will be made available for each department.

The facility is intended to streamline OPD registration and patient flow by allowing patients to complete the appointment process online rather than visiting the hospital solely to register for an appointment. The system may also help reduce avoidable waiting at registration counters.

The ORS is part of the Government of India’s Digital India initiative and is integrated with digital healthcare services under the eHospital platform. Developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), the system provides online OPD appointment services for participating government hospitals and supports registration, appointment scheduling and patient-flow management.

To book an appointment, patients must access the official ORS portal at ors.gov.in/orsportal/ and complete the required verification process. They then need to select G.B. Pant Hospital, ANIIMS, Sri Vijaya Puram, followed by the relevant OPD or department.

After selecting the department, patients can choose an available date and appointment slot and confirm the booking after checking the appointment details. The appointment confirmation or SMS should be retained for future reference.

On the scheduled date, patients must visit OPD Registration Counter No. 1, also designated as the ORS Counter, at G.B. Pant Hospital for appointment confirmation. They are required to produce the appointment number or confirmation received through the ORS portal or SMS.

The online system provides a digital route for patients to secure OPD appointments before reaching the hospital, while the confirmation process at the ORS counter remains part of the visit.

ANIIMS said the online appointment facility is now available to the general public, with the initial allocation capped at 10 online slots for each department. The facility operates through the Government of India’s ORS platform, linking the hospital’s OPD appointment process with the national digital registration system.
