Sri Vijaya Puram, Sep 17: Passengers travelling on the Kadamtala–Sri Vijaya Puram route will see a change in the early-morning KT2 (D2) bus service, with its departure pushed from 4 am to 4:30 am under a revised schedule issued by the Directorate of Transport, A&N Administration.
The Transport Directorate said the timing was revised after reviewing the operational feasibility of the service and passenger convenience. The new departure time will come into effect 10 days after publication of the relevant press release.
Under the revised schedule, KT2 (D2) will leave Kadamtala at 4:30 am instead of its existing 4 am departure. The change will apply to the service operating between Kadamtala and Sri Vijaya Puram.
The administration has also clarified that there will be no change to the KT1 (J) service on the same route. The bus will continue to depart Kadamtala at 12:45 pm under the existing timetable.
The Transport Directorate has set the 10-day gap before implementation to prevent inconvenience to passengers who may have already made advance bookings through the ATR online ticketing system.
The revised timing therefore affects only the departure of KT2 (D2), while passengers using KT1 (J) can continue to follow its existing schedule.
The administration said the adjustment followed a review of operational feasibility and public convenience. The revised departure is intended to provide greater convenience to passengers while allowing the service to operate efficiently.
For commuters who regularly use the early-morning KT2 service, the change means the scheduled departure from Kadamtala will be 30 minutes later than under the existing timetable once the revised schedule takes effect.
Passengers who have planned journeys around the current 4 am departure have been given the 10-day transition period before the new timing becomes operational. The measure is intended to ensure that those who have already secured advance tickets through the ATR online system are not inconvenienced by the change.
The Transport Directorate has accordingly advised commuters to take note of the revised KT2 departure time and the unchanged KT1 schedule when planning travel on the Kadamtala–Sri Vijaya Puram route.
