Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 10: Youth in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands have been invited to participate in the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2027, a national initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports that aims to engage young people in contributing ideas, leadership and innovative solutions towards the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
The call for participation was highlighted during a press conference held at Andaman Mahila Mandal, Sri Vijaya Puram, where officials urged eligible youth across the Islands to register and take part in the selection process. The national-level event is scheduled to be held in New Delhi from January 10 to 12, 2027, and is open to participants in the 15–29 years age group.
Officials outlined the multi-stage selection process, which begins with the Viksit Bharat Quiz, followed by the Essay Challenge, District Championship, State/UT-level competition and the National-level VBYLD.

The programme comprises six thematic tracks: Viksit Bharat Challenge Track, Cultural Track, Design for Bharat, Hack for Social Cause, Youth Entrepreneurs Challenge and Youth Parliament, providing multiple avenues for participants to showcase leadership, creativity and innovation.
Eligible youth have been asked to complete their registration and participate in the Viksit Bharat Quiz on or before September 30, 2026, through the MY Bharat Portal, as the quiz serves as the entry point to the national selection process.
The organisers also appealed to print, electronic and digital media to widely publicise the programme, registration details and quiz link to maximise participation across the Islands. The outreach aims to reach students, NSS volunteers, NCC cadets, Bharat Scouts and Guides, youth clubs and other youth organisations.
The press conference was addressed by Sukha Ranjan Biswas, UT Director, MY Bharat, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Deepak Kumar, District Youth Officer, MY Bharat, Disha Singh, a previous national-level participant in VBYLD, Dr. Sunil Saini, Assistant Professor at TGCE, and Gopal Ch.
