Swaraj Dweep Police Arrest Private Worker, Recover 277 Grams of Suspected Ganja

Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 21: Police in Swaraj Dweep have arrested a 30-year-old private worker and seized 277 grams of suspected ganja along with 30 small transparent packets allegedly used to package the contraband, following a search of his rented residence at Vijay Nagar No. 5.

The arrested person has been identified as Chandan Kumar R, a private worker originally from Bengaluru, Karnataka, who was residing at Vijay Nagar No. 5 in Swaraj Dweep. Police said the seizure followed information that he was allegedly in possession of ganja and involved in dealing or selling the contraband in the Govind Nagar No. 3 market area.

Acting on the information, Police Station Swaraj Dweep directed a police team to trace the suspect. The team located Kumar near Govind Nagar No. 3 Market and brought him to the police station for questioning.

During interrogation, Kumar allegedly told police that he had kept some quantity of ganja at his rented residence in Vijay Nagar No. 5. The police team subsequently proceeded to the residence to conduct a search.

At around 1 p.m., police searched the rented premises at Vijay Nagar No. 5 and reportedly recovered a transparent packet containing 277 grams of suspected ganja. Officers also recovered 30 small transparent packets that were allegedly intended for packaging the contraband.

The seizure followed the police action in the Govind Nagar No. 3 market area, where Kumar was allegedly involved in dealing or selling ganja, according to the information received by police.

Kumar is originally from Bengaluru but had come to Swaraj Dweep, where he was working as a private worker, according to the information provided in the case.

The recovery of the suspected contraband and packaging material formed the basis of the police action against the accused. Police have initiated further investigation into the case.

Legal proceedings are underway, with investigators continuing the process in accordance with the case.

The seizure on August 20 involved one transparent packet containing the suspected ganja and 30 smaller transparent packets allegedly used for packaging, while Kumar was arrested in connection with the case.

Police are continuing further investigation and legal proceedings into the alleged possession and dealing of the suspected contraband.
