Sri Vijaya Puram, August 10: A sudden braking incident triggered by a cow on Mini Bay Road led to a multi-vehicle crash involving an STS electric bus, a Defence ambulance and two newly purchased cars around noon on Monday.
According to information available, a car approaching the spot suddenly applied its brakes after the cow was seen sitting on the road. Vehicles travelling behind it also braked and came to a stop.
Two cars and a Defence ambulance managed to stop safely, with no collision between them at that stage. However, an STS electric bus approaching from behind reportedly failed to stop in time and struck the Defence ambulance.
The impact then involved the other vehicles, resulting in a multi-vehicle collision.
