IGNOU Extends July 2026 Re-Registration Deadline to July 15 for ODL and Online Programmes

Date:

Sri Vijaya Puram, July 2: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the last date for re-registration for all programmes offered through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and online mode for the July 2026 academic session until July 15, providing additional time for eligible students to complete the mandatory enrolment process.

The extension applies to learners enrolled in IGNOU’s ODL and online programmes who are required to complete re-registration to continue their studies in the upcoming academic session. The university has also stated that fresh admissions for the July 2026 session will remain open until July 15.

IGNOU has informed students that the entire re-registration process is conducted exclusively through the online mode. Learners have been directed to visit the SAMARTH IGNOU Portal, register themselves and complete the re-registration process by following the prescribed online procedure.

The university has clarified that students who have already created their accounts but are unable to access them due to forgotten passwords should reset their passwords through the portal before proceeding with the re-registration process.

According to the notification, every stage of the re-registration process, including payment of the prescribed fee, has been made available online. IGNOU has advised students to complete the process within the extended deadline to ensure the smooth and timely continuation of their academic programmes.

The university reiterated that re-registration is an essential requirement for students seeking uninterrupted progression in their respective courses. Failure to complete the process within the stipulated period may affect the timely completion of their academic programme.

Apart from re-registration, IGNOU has also continued the admission process for fresh applicants seeking enrolment in various ODL and online programmes for the July 2026 session. Eligible candidates intending to take fresh admission have also been advised to submit their applications before July 15.

Students requiring clarification or assistance regarding re-registration or admission procedures have been advised to contact the IGNOU Regional Centre. Queries can be addressed through the Regional Centre’s telephone numbers, 03192-242888 and 03192-230111, or by email at rcportblair@ignou.ac.in.

The extension offers additional time to existing learners and prospective students to complete the required formalities online before the revised deadline, ensuring continuity of academic activities for the July 2026 session.
