Sri Vijaya Puram, May 15: Students from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands have qualified to participate in the Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) National Level Camp scheduled to be held at Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar on May 16 and 17, 2026.
The students were selected following a State Level Camp organised by Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan in association with Science Centre Sri Vijaya Puram on December 21, 2025.
According to organisers, three students from each class between Class VI and Class XI secured first, second and third positions during the State Level Camp.

Students securing first and second positions from each class were declared eligible to participate in the National Level Camp at IIT Gandhinagar.
The selected students from the Islands include Lohitaksha of Class VI from Carmel Senior Secondary School and Hardik Chakravarty of Class VI from Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya.
From Class VII, Ishayu Tawker of Navy Children School and Tanushree Vashishtha of PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2 have qualified.
Students selected from Class VIII are S. Samriddhi of St. Mary’s School and Devesh Mazumdar of Mahatma Gandhi International School.
From Class IX, Bidisha Maiti of Navy Children School and Diya R. Menon of PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 have been selected.
Class X qualifiers include S. Shanmuga Priya and Vaibhav Ganapathy, both from Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya.
From Class XI, Asmita of Carmel Senior Secondary School and Supriya Yadav of Khalsa Public Senior Secondary School have secured qualification for the national-level event.
The selected students will travel from the Islands to Gujarat to participate in the National Level Camp, where students from across the country are expected to take part in science-related activities, interactive sessions and academic competitions.
Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan is a national-level science talent programme aimed at encouraging interest in science education and scientific learning among school students across India.
