The arrest of Youth Congress State General Secretary Nambi KT in a wildlife offence case has sparked political controversy in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. NSUI State President and Pradesh Youth Congress Vice-President M.A. Sajid has called for a fair, transparent and impartial investigation, alleging the possibility of a conspiracy while maintaining that anyone found guilty must face the law. The Forest Department said more than 50 kg of suspected protected wildlife meat was seized in two separate operations at Wimberlygunj and Ferrargunj, leading to three arrests under the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972. The allegations remain under investigation, and guilt or innocence will be determined by the competent court.
