Sri Vijaya Puram, May 14: An awareness programme on the Unique Disability ID (UDID) Scheme was conducted at the Community Health Centre (CHC), Bambooflat, on Tuesday with participation from healthcare workers, Anganwadi Workers, ASHA Workers and members of the public.
The programme focused on various aspects of the UDID Scheme, including the benefits of the UDID card, the disability certification process and procedures related to online registration.
During the session, officials from the Directorate of Social Welfare explained the registration process and technical requirements associated with obtaining the UDID card. Participants were also informed about the importance of disability certification for accessing welfare schemes and support services available for Divyangjans.
The programme included discussions on government schemes linked to education, healthcare, financial assistance and other support measures for persons with disabilities.
Medical officials and staff from the Community Health Centre, Bambooflat, also participated in the programme along with frontline workers involved in community health and welfare activities.
An interactive session was conducted during which Anganwadi Workers and ASHA Workers raised queries related to disability certification, online registration procedures and eligibility for various welfare schemes.
Officials addressed questions regarding documentation requirements, application procedures and access to benefits under different government programmes.
The UDID Scheme aims to create a national database for persons with disabilities and provide a single identification document that can be used to access various government services and welfare benefits across the country.
