Mayabunder, May 16: As part of the ongoing outreach initiative “Sampark se Samadhan – Prashasan Gaon ki Ore”, the District Administration of North and Middle Andaman organised a Public Grievance Redressal Programme at the Zilla Parishad Community Hall in Nimbutala on Thursday.
The programme was chaired by Sushant Padha and attended by Deepanshu Vohra, heads of various departments, PRI representatives and members of the public.
The initiative is aimed at strengthening grassroots governance by improving accessibility to government services and ensuring timely resolution of public grievances through direct interaction between citizens and government departments.

The outreach programme formed part of a wider effort by the District Administration to take administrative services and grievance redressal mechanisms directly to rural areas and remote villages across North and Middle Andaman district.
During the programme, residents raised concerns and grievances related to revenue matters, public services and local administrative issues before officials from different departments.
As part of the event, a Revenue Camp Court was also conducted where several cases relating to sub-division of land, mutation and correction of names in revenue records were taken up for hearing and disposal.
Officials stated that a number of cases were resolved on the spot during the proceedings, while other matters requiring further verification or departmental action were noted for follow-up action.
Revenue-related issues continue to remain among the more frequently raised concerns in rural areas, particularly in matters connected to land ownership records, mutation entries and correction of documentation.
Residents attending the programme also interacted directly with departmental officials regarding access to government schemes, public welfare services and local development-related matters.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner stated that regular interaction between citizens and the administration is important for improving transparency and ensuring that grievances are addressed in a timely manner.
He also stressed the importance of coordinated departmental functioning and proactive public service delivery in resolving issues faced by residents in rural and remote areas.
The programme was designed not only as a grievance hearing platform but also as a means of improving communication between the administration and local communities.
The initiative also seeks to reduce delays in service delivery by enabling residents to raise issues directly before concerned departments without having to travel repeatedly to administrative offices.
The programme witnessed participation from around 350 people, including PRI members, departmental officials and residents from nearby areas.
The turnout at the programme reflected continued public interest in village-level outreach initiatives and direct grievance redressal mechanisms.
Authorities stated that outreach programmes such as “Sampark se Samadhan – Prashasan Gaon ki Ore” are intended to strengthen local governance systems and improve the accessibility of government services in areas located away from district headquarters and urban centres.
Officials further stated that the District Administration plans to continue conducting similar programmes in other villages across North and Middle Andaman district in the coming months.
Expanding outreach activities at the village level is expected to help improve coordination between departments, address local concerns more efficiently and ensure wider public participation in governance-related processes.
The programme concluded after departmental interactions, grievance hearings and revenue-related proceedings were completed at the venue.
