Nissy Philip, a student of PM SHRI GSSS Swadeshnagar selected from the A&N Islands attended the programme in New Delhi

The 2026 edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC) was screened live on 6 January at the auditorium of Tagore Government College of Education (TGCE), Sri Vijaya Puram, with participation from students and teachers across South Andaman. The programme, organised under the initiative of the Education Department of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration, coincided with nationwide interactions between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and students, teachers, and parents ahead of the examination season.

A notable highlight of the event was the participation of Nissy Philip, a student of PM SHRI Government Senior Secondary School, Swadeshnagar, who represented the Andaman and Nicobar Islands at the national-level interaction held in New Delhi. She had the opportunity to directly engage in the programme, marking a rare instance of student representation from the Islands in the nationwide initiative.

At the TGCE screening venue, around 270 students of Classes X and XII from various schools in South Andaman attended along with 33 teachers. These students are scheduled to appear for upcoming board examinations, and the session focused on discussions related to examination preparedness, stress management, and learning approaches. The programme was conducted as part of broader efforts to provide academic motivation during the examination period.

This ninth edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha introduced a multi-location nationwide engagement format, enabling simultaneous participation of students from different parts of the country. The initiative is positioned as an interactive platform addressing examination-related concerns while promoting confidence and balanced learning perspectives among students.

Education authorities reported significant participation from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands through the PPC portal. A total of 43,770 students, 4,938 teachers, and 3,736 parents from the Islands registered and participated, reflecting widespread engagement with the programme. Officials noted that participation levels from the territory reached full coverage across registered stakeholders.

Gyan Sheel Dubey, District Education Officer, South Andaman, stated that the programme is expected to motivate students preparing for examinations. Sangeeta Chand, Principal of the State Institute of Education and Nodal Officer for PPC, also interacted with students during the screening and highlighted the scale of participation from the Islands.

In addition to the TGCE event, the Education Department arranged live screenings of the programme across schools throughout the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. These arrangements were aimed at ensuring that students in different locations could access the session simultaneously as part of coordinated academic outreach tied to the national initiative.
