Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 29: Authorities in South Andaman have stepped up preparations for the NEET-PG 2026 examination, with a review meeting focusing on security, power supply, surveillance, internet connectivity and medical support ahead of the test scheduled for August 30.
Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Purva Garg chaired the preparedness review meeting at the Conference Hall of the District Office. The meeting brought together Superintendent of Police (District), South Andaman, Shweta K. Sugathan, along with nodal officers, centre in-charges and executive magistrates assigned to the examination centres, besides senior officers from the departments involved in conducting the examination.
Officials reviewed the arrangements at all four examination centres. The information provided for the meeting names Dr B. R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT), Dollygunj; SIS Computer Education, Middle Point; and India Technology, Clock Tower. No fourth centre was identified in the information provided.
The review examined measures required to ensure that the examination proceeds in a secure and orderly manner. Particular attention was given to uninterrupted electricity supply and the availability and operational readiness of diesel generator sets, which form part of the arrangements at the centres.
Security arrangements also came under review, along with health and medical support for the examination process. Officials discussed the installation and functioning of CCTV surveillance systems and the availability of reliable internet connectivity at the centres.
The meeting also considered other essential amenities required for the examination. Garg stressed the need for coordination between the departments involved, effective supervision at the centres and quick resolution of any issues that could arise during the examination.
She directed the officers concerned to ensure that all required arrangements remain fully operational before the examination begins. Officials were also instructed to establish appropriate contingency measures in advance so that potential disruptions can be addressed during the examination process.
The officers were further advised to maintain close coordination and remain vigilant throughout the examination. The directions are aimed at ensuring that arrangements across the examination centres support the smooth, secure and orderly conduct of NEET-PG 2026 on August 30.
The review meeting placed operational preparedness at the centre of the administration’s efforts, covering essential services, security infrastructure and coordination among the agencies involved in the examination.
