Military Aircraft Firing Practice Scheduled Across May in Andaman

Date:

Authorities have issued a formal notification alerting residents and visitors about scheduled firing practice sessions by military aircraft across the Andaman Islands throughout May 2025. The exercises will take place on May 7, 14, 21, and 28 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, and separately on May 8, 13, 20, and 27 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

These drills, conducted under the Manoeuvres, Field Firing and Artillery Practice Act of 1938, are essential for maintaining combat readiness and operational precision among the armed forces stationed in the region.

Officials have urged all residents, vehicle owners, and livestock handlers to steer clear of designated firing ranges during the practice windows to avoid accidents or injuries. The notification serves as a general safety warning, and compliance is mandatory to ensure public safety and the smooth execution of military activities.

Residents are advised to monitor official bulletins for any changes in the drill schedule and to take necessary precautions during the specified hours.
