LG, MP extend New Year greetings to islanders

Lieutenant Governor of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands Admiral D. K. Joshi (Retd.) and Member of Parliament Bishnu Pada Ray on Wednesday extended New Year greetings to the people of the Islands, wishing them peace, good health and prosperity in 2026.

In his New Year message, the Lieutenant Governor said the occasion was a time to reflect on the Islands’ collective journey and renew the resolve to move forward with optimism and determination. He expressed confidence that the year ahead would witness continued progress and development across the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, driven by unity, cooperation and inclusive growth. He also reiterated the administration’s commitment to working towards the Prime Minister’s vision of a Viksit Bharat, with focus on sustainable development, improved governance and enhanced quality of life for islanders.

Separately, MP Bishnu Pada Ray conveyed his greetings to the people of the Islands and said the New Year should strengthen unity and collective effort among citizens. He expressed hope that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the Islands would see sustained development and improved welfare of islanders in the coming years.

Both leaders wished the people a peaceful and prosperous New Year 2026.
