ITF 2025 Goes Digital with Live Streaming; Hasya Kavi Sammelan and Agriculture Shows Announced

Date:

In a move aimed at expanding public access and participation, the Directorate of Tourism, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, has introduced live streaming of cultural programmes during the Island Tourism Festival (ITF) 2025 through its official YouTube channel and other social media platforms. The initiative is intended to bring the festival’s vibrant cultural offerings closer to residents, tourists, and audiences who are unable to attend events at the venue in person.

According to the Directorate, live performances can be accessed by scanning a QR code displayed at prominent locations and featured on ITF publicity materials. The QR code redirects viewers to the official YouTube channel of the Tourism Department, where the cultural programmes are being streamed live. This digital outreach is expected to ensure wider visibility of ITF events and allow audiences to engage with the festival from any location.

The live streaming initiative will showcase a range of performances, including traditional dances, music, and artistic presentations by renowned artists from the mainland as well as local talent from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The Directorate of Tourism stated that the objective is to enable seamless access to the festival’s cultural programmes and ensure that the spirit of ITF reaches a broader audience beyond the physical venue.

The Tourism Department has invited the public to make use of this facility by scanning the QR code and tuning in through its official YouTube channel and social media handles, thereby participating virtually in the Island Tourism Festival celebrations.

As part of the series of events scheduled during ITF 2025, the Official Language Department of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration will organise a ‘Hasya Kavi Sammelan’ at the ITF Ground on December 30 at 6 pm. The programme will feature well-known Hasya poets from the mainland, including Shri Shambhu “Shikhar”, Smti Shaliza Singh, Shri Vibhor Chaudhury, Shri Sunder Kataria, and Chetan “Charchit”, who will present humorous poetic compositions. The organisers have extended an open invitation to the public to attend the programme.

In addition to cultural performances, competitive events are also being organised as part of ITF 2025. The Department of Agriculture will conduct a Flower Show and Vegetables & Fruit Show competition on December 29, 2025, at the ITF Ground. The Flower Show competitions will be held across several categories, including fresh flower arrangement, dry flower arrangement, flat bouquets, garland making, and rangoli making.

Application forms for participation in these competitions will be available at the Directorate of Agriculture, Haddo; the Zonal Agriculture Office, Goalghar; and all sub-depots of the South Andaman Zone during working hours. The last date for submission of application forms is December 27, 2025.

As part of the agricultural showcase, quality exhibits of vegetables and fruits grown by local farmers will be displayed and judged, with awards to be presented to selected entries. Interested participants have been advised to contact the nearest Agriculture Sub-Depot In-charges or the Assistant Director (Agriculture), South Andaman/HVADA, Directorate of Agriculture, Haddo, for further information.

For additional assistance and details, participants may also contact the Kisan Call Centre at 03192-243434 or the toll-free number 1800-345-1145.
