Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 30: The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, concluded Hindi Pakhwada-2026 with a focus on strengthening the use of Hindi in official work, including noting, drafting and computer-based office functions.
The fortnight-long programme was organised from September 14 to 28, during which officers and employees participated in various competitions and activities aimed at promoting Hindi and encouraging its use in official communication.
The concluding programme was attended by Additional District Magistrate Priyanka Kumari, officers and employees from different sections of the office, the Nodal Officer (Official Language)/Assistant Director (Administration), and Senior Translation Officer of the Department of Official Language K. V. Satyanarayan.
During the programme, Office Superintendent Mariam Bibi presented a report outlining the activities and competitions conducted throughout Hindi Pakhwada. Four major competitions were organised as part of the fortnight-long programme.
Participants who performed well in the competitions were felicitated with prizes and certificates by the Additional District Magistrate during the concluding function.
The programme was followed by a one-day Hindi workshop aimed at strengthening the practical use of the language in government offices. Satyanarayan provided guidance to officers and employees on Hindi-based official work, with specific focus on Hindi noting and drafting.
The workshop also addressed the use of Hindi on computers, providing participants with guidance on carrying out official functions in Hindi through digital systems.
The concluding session brought together the competition-based activities and practical training components of Hindi Pakhwada-2026, with the programme focusing on the use of Hindi in day-to-day official work.
