Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 22: Power supply across several parts of Garacharma will be affected on September 23 as the Electricity Department undertakes cable replacement and line-shifting work on the Garacharma feeder.
The Garacharma feeder will remain under isolation from 7.30 am to 1 pm for replacement of the HT ABC cable straight and end joint near Murda Khadi and shifting of the LT line near Shivaji Colony, according to the power supply advisory issued for local consumers and government departments.
The scheduled work will affect Laxmi Motor, Shivaji Colony, TR Housing, MR Housing, Garacharma Basti, Susan Rose, Garacharma Medical, Kali Mandir, TTI Road, Pump House, Murda Khadi and IMFC. The advisory also covers the full area served by the Garacharma feeder.
The Electricity Department has stated that the announced shutdown period remains tentative and may change depending on weather conditions. The actual duration of the interruption will therefore depend on the progress of the work and prevailing conditions.
If the electrical work finishes ahead of the scheduled time, the department will charge the feeder or line accordingly, allowing power supply to resume before the stated 1 pm endpoint.
The planned isolation is linked to two separate works on the distribution network: replacement of the HT ABC cable straight and end joint near Murda Khadi and relocation of an LT line near Shivaji Colony.
