Impactful Events by Gandhi Global Family Boost Health and Education in Andaman

Sri Vijaya Puram, May 26: Gandhi Global Family (GGF) organized two impactful events on May 25, underlining its commitment to public health and educational empowerment in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The day began with a blood donation camp at Pillar Health Centre, Lamba Line, and concluded with a felicitation ceremony in memory of Late Brojendra Lall at Rohins Eye Hospital.

The blood donation camp, held at 10:30 AM, drew enthusiastic participation from volunteers, medical professionals, and social activists. Anuradha Lall, President of GGF, welcomed the gathering and stressed the importance of voluntary blood donation in saving lives and building resilient healthcare systems. Shreyaa Rohindra Lall delivered an insightful address, highlighting the eligibility criteria for donors and the urgent need for blood in medical emergencies such as surgeries, trauma cases, and chronic illnesses.

In a generous gesture, GGF, in collaboration with Clean City A&N Social and Welfare Association, donated a deep freezer to the sisters of Pillar Health Centre. This donation is expected to boost the center’s storage capacity, ensuring the safe preservation of blood and medical supplies. A major highlight of the camp was K. Paramasivam donating blood for the 100th time, earning admiration for his remarkable act of dedication and community service.

Later in the evening, at 5 PM, GGF organized a felicitation ceremony in memory of Late Brojendra Lall, a distinguished educationist and sports personality of the islands. Held at the premises of Rohin’s Eye Hospital, the event celebrated the academic achievements of Class 12 toppers from Science, Arts, and Commerce streams. Each student was awarded a shield, certificate, and cash prize as a tribute to their hard work and Lall’s lifelong contributions to education.

Shaima Shamim, Administrative Secretary of GGF, welcomed attendees and paid tribute to Brojendra Lall’s enduring legacy in the fields of education and sports. Mehwash Jadwet, General Secretary of GGF, delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging all contributors and encouraging continued community involvement in such initiatives.

Together, these events reflected GGF’s ongoing mission to foster a spirit of service, celebrate excellence, and honor the legacy of individuals who have significantly contributed to the betterment of the island community.
