Fisheries Department Invites Applications for Boat Subsidy Scheme

Sri Vijaya Puram, May 5: The Department of Fisheries, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, has invited applications for financial assistance under the UT Plan Scheme titled “Subsidy for Construction/Purchase of Motorized/Mechanized Fishing Boats.” The scheme targets bonafide fishers, Scheduled Tribes, unemployed youth, cooperative societies, and local entrepreneurs to boost fish production in the region.

Under this scheme, a 50% subsidy will be provided to general applicants, and a 75% subsidy will be extended to Scheduled Tribe applicants and Tribal Cooperative Societies, based on the unit cost fixed by the department. Interested individuals residing in municipal or tribal areas can collect application forms and guidelines from the Directorate of Fisheries, Zonal Offices, or nearest Fisheries Sub Stations. The completed applications must be submitted by May 31, 2025.
