e-Shram Accident Claim Deadline Extended to June 30, 2025 for Unorganized Workers

Date:

Sri Vijaya Puram, June 4: The Ministry of Labour and Employment has extended the deadline for accidental claim settlements under the e-Shram portal until June 30, 2025. This extension applies to all unorganized workers or their nominees who suffered accidental death or partial/permanent disability on or before March 31, 2022, and who have not yet submitted claims.

The e-Shram initiative, launched in August 2021, aims to build a national database of unorganized workers linked with Aadhaar. As part of the original registration, the Ministry had promised accidental insurance coverage for one year. To operationalize this benefit, an Ex-Gratia Module was developed to process claims, with District Magistrates serving as the approving authority.

Eligible individuals are advised to visit the Facilitation Centre at the Labour Department, Supply Line, Sri Vijaya Puram, with the necessary documents. For support, they can contact the ANBOCW Welfare Board at 8900901130.

Authorities have emphasized the importance of utilizing the extended window to claim entitlements and close pending cases under the first-year insurance provision. The announcement reflects the Ministry’s continued commitment to safeguarding the welfare of the unorganized workforce.
