The Hindu Rashtra Shakti (HRS) has formally urged the Andaman & Nicobar Administration to name the newly constructed Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Ward No. 17, Dollygunj, after late Councillor Dharmender Narayan, who is remembered for his tireless service to the local community. The organisation has also requested that a statue of the late leader be installed within the PHC premises as a lasting tribute to his legacy.
In a written representation addressed to the authorities, Shri Rakeshwar Lall, State President of Hindu Rashtra Shakti, conveyed the appeal on behalf of the residents of Ward No. 17 and local community leaders. The letter expresses deep appreciation for the establishment of the new PHC, calling it a significant milestone in improving public healthcare access for the area’s residents.
The proposal underscores that the late Councillor Dharmender Narayan played a pivotal role in conceptualising and advocating for the new PHC, dedicating years of effort toward ensuring better health infrastructure for his constituents. The community, it notes, views the new facility as a realisation of his long-standing vision and public commitment.
“Shri Dharmender Narayan Ji was not merely a representative but a true Jan Sevak who devoted his life to the welfare of people,” the representation states. “Naming the new PHC in his memory would be a fitting and dignified gesture that honours his service and inspires future generations.”
The petition, supported by residents, social workers, and community leaders, proposes that the PHC be officially named the “Dharmender Narayan Primary Health Centre” and that a statue of the late councillor be installed at a prominent location on the premises. The appeal also requests that the proposal be considered and approved before the facility’s upcoming inauguration.
According to the representation, this dedication would not only acknowledge Dharmender Narayan’s contributions but also offer emotional solace to his family and symbolise the community’s collective gratitude. It further suggests that the move would stand as an enduring reminder of civic responsibility and leadership in public service.
The letter concludes with a note of confidence that the administration, under its “compassionate and principled leadership,” will consider the proposal favourably, recognising the late councillor’s pivotal role in advancing healthcare and community welfare in Dollygunj.
Residents and community groups have expressed optimism that the administration will approve the naming proposal, ensuring that the new PHC reflects the values of dedication and service embodied by Dharmender Narayan during his tenure as councillor.
