Sri Vijaya Puram, July 7: The Skill Development Programme (SDP) Cell of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT), Pahargaon, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission to a three-month free skill training course in Manual Metal Arc Welding/Shielded Metal Arc Welding – Welder (NSQF Level-3) under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 4.0. Applications for the programme will be accepted until July 10.
The training programme has been launched to equip unemployed youth with industry-relevant technical skills and improve their employability through competency-based training. The course will run for three months and comprise a total duration of 390 hours.
According to the institute, the course curriculum includes concurrent On-the-Job Training (OJT), which will be conducted alongside classroom training in suitable departments under the Andaman and Nicobar Administration. The practical component is intended to provide trainees with workplace exposure and hands-on experience during the training period.

The course is being offered in Manual Metal Arc Welding/Shielded Metal Arc Welding – Welder at NSQF Level-3. The institute has fixed the intake capacity for the current batch at 20 candidates.
As per the prescribed qualification pack, candidates who have passed Class 10 or its equivalent are eligible to apply. Eligibility also extends to candidates who have passed Class 8 with two years of National Trade Certificate (NTC) or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) after Class 8 or its equivalent.
The notification further states that candidates who have passed Class 9 with one-and-a-half years of relevant work experience or Class 8 with three years of relevant work experience are also eligible. In addition, applicants possessing a previous relevant qualification of NSQF Level 2.5 with one-and-a-half years of relevant work experience or a previous relevant qualification of NSQF Level 2 with three years of relevant work experience may also apply.

Eligible candidates interested in enrolling for the programme have been asked to contact the Skill Development Programme Cell at DBRAIT or the course trainer, Mohammed Aslam, on mobile number 9679547729 on or before July 10 to complete the enrolment process.
The institute has encouraged eligible unemployed youth to utilise the opportunity to acquire nationally recognised technical skills, practical workplace experience and industry-oriented training through the Skill India Programme under PMKVY 4.0, with the objective of improving future employment prospects.
