CPAO Launches SAKSHAM Training Wing, Official Website to Strengthen Financial Administration

Date:

Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 8: The Chief Pay and Accounts Office (CPAO) of the A&N Administration has launched a dedicated training wing and its official website, combining professional capacity-building for government personnel with a new digital platform for access to accounts and finance-related information.

The new training wing, named ‘SAKSHAM’, has been established to provide structured learning and capacity-building for personnel handling accounts, finance, pay and related administrative functions. The initiative is designed to strengthen their professional knowledge, skills and efficiency.

SAKSHAM stands for ‘Skill Augmentation and Knowledge Strengthening for Human Resources engaged in Accounts and Finance Management’. Through the initiative, the CPAO proposes to conduct training programmes, workshops, hands-on learning sessions and other knowledge-sharing activities for government personnel and stakeholders associated with accounts and financial management.

The official CPAO website, developed with assistance from SOVTECH, was also launched during the programme. The website will serve as a dedicated online platform for disseminating important information, instructions, updates, training resources and other services of the Chief Pay and Accounts Office.

The twin initiatives were presented as measures to support continuous learning, skill development and the effective use of technology in financial administration. The programme also highlighted the role of professional capacity and digital access in strengthening efficiency and transparency in public financial management.

Secretary (Finance), A&N Administration, Hemant Kumar, IAS, attended the programme as chief guest, while Director of Accounts & Budget and Chief Pay & Accounts Officer S. Dasgupta was the guest of honour.

The CPAO said it intends to develop SAKSHAM as a sustained platform for learning, knowledge sharing and continuous professional development. The training wing will cater to personnel and stakeholders connected with accounts and financial management through different forms of structured learning.

The initiative is intended to contribute to greater efficiency and effectiveness in public financial administration across the Islands by combining continued professional development with wider digital dissemination of CPAO information and resources.
