Bhopal, May 4:Early trends from the West Bengal Assembly elections sparked celebrations within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), with senior leaders describing the party’s performance as both politically significant and emotionally charged.
As counting continued, BJP leaders across Madhya Pradesh and other regions interpreted the trends as a reflection of rising public trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Senior BJP leader and Madhya Pradesh Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, who earlier served as the party’s in-charge for West Bengal, expressed deep emotion while reacting to the developments.
Speaking in Indore, Vijayvargiya described the moment as more than just a political milestone, calling it a deeply personal achievement shaped by years of organisational struggle.
“As a party worker, my heart is overflowing with emotion today. A pledge has been fulfilled; a dream has come true,” he said, adding that the moment held special significance for party supporters and workers.
He also invoked the legacy of Syama Prasad Mookerjee, stating that such developments would have been a matter of pride for the party’s ideological roots.
Vijayvargiya noted that BJP workers in West Bengal had faced prolonged challenges, including political violence and pressure, but remained committed to expanding the party’s presence in the state. He termed the current trends a vindication of their perseverance.
“The emerging trends have filled citizens with fresh enthusiasm. This is not just a victory-it is an emotional moment for countless BJP workers,” he said.
He further linked the outcome to a broader national sentiment, suggesting that strong central leadership has played a key role in shaping electoral success across regions. According to him, the BJP’s increasing acceptance in eastern India signals evolving political dynamics in the country.
Meanwhile, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also weighed in, attributing the NDA’s strong performance to the leadership and vision of Prime Minister Modi.
“The people of the country have once again shown their faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and vision for a developed India,” Chouhan said.
He added that the electorate’s shift away from what he described as “vote-bank politics” towards development-focused governance has contributed significantly to the BJP’s performance.
According to Chouhan, the trends from West Bengal, coupled with positive signals from other regions, indicate a growing alignment among voters with stability, development, and long-term growth policies.
Celebrations were reported in several parts of Madhya Pradesh, particularly in Indore, where BJP workers gathered in large numbers. Vijayvargiya himself joined the supporters, describing the atmosphere as one of “jubilation and renewed determination.”
As counting continues and final results are awaited, BJP leaders remain optimistic that the early trends will translate into a decisive mandate, further strengthening the NDA’s political momentum across the country.
