Andaman & Nicobar Promotes Eco and Adventure Tourism at IITM 2025 Bengaluru

Date:

The Andaman and Nicobar Administration, through its Directorate of Information, Publicity & Tourism (IP&T), is participating in the India International Travel Mart (IITM) being held in Bengaluru from July 24 to 26, 2025. The event was inaugurated by Pasang Dorjee Sona, Minister of Tourism, Education, Rural Works, Parliamentary Affairs, and Libraries, Government of Arunachal Pradesh.

IITM is one of India’s leading travel and tourism exhibitions, attracting tour operators, travel agents, and tourism stakeholders from across the country and abroad. The Andaman & Nicobar Tourism Department’s presence at the exhibition aims to highlight the Islands as a premier destination for eco-friendly and adventure-based travel.

At the exhibition, the department is showcasing the Islands’ diverse offerings, including unspoiled beaches, water sports, rich marine biodiversity, historical landmarks, and unique experiences such as bird watching, luxury tent accommodations, caravan tourism, and astro-tourism. Special focus is being placed on promoting lesser-known destinations and sustainable tourism models that emphasize conservation and community involvement.

Officials from IP&T and representatives of tour operators and associations from the Islands are actively engaging with travel trade partners to promote tourism packages and build collaborative ties. The participation provides an important platform to attract both domestic and international tourists and to boost visibility for the archipelago’s evolving tourism sector.

The Andaman & Nicobar Tourism Department’s engagement at IITM also reflects its efforts to align with national goals of responsible tourism. By highlighting policies that support environmentally responsible travel and experiential tourism, the administration aims to position the Islands as a world-class yet sustainable destination.

With an increasing demand for offbeat, nature-centric holidays, the Islands’ emphasis on preserving natural resources while expanding tourism offerings has been well received. The department’s focus on eco-tourism, adventure activities, and cultural heritage reflects a strategic shift toward long-term tourism development.

The India International Travel Mart serves as a key networking and promotional opportunity, allowing the Islands to connect with tour agencies, media, and other stakeholders, while reinforcing its commitment to responsible and inclusive tourism growth.
