Industries Department Organises Startup Workshop on Company Law and Compliance

Date:

Sri Vijaya Puram, April 23: In an effort to strengthen business formalisation and improve regulatory awareness among entrepreneurs, startups, MSMEs, and self-employed youth, the Directorate of Industries, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, will organise a sensitisation workshop on the Companies Act and company affairs on April 24, 2026.

The workshop will be held at the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Industries, Sri Vijaya Puram, starting at 9 am. It is being conducted in collaboration with the Registrar of Companies (RoC), Chennai, as part of broader efforts to promote structured enterprise development and compliance awareness.

The session will feature Shri Aeshala Vamshi Krishna, Deputy Registrar of Companies, who will lead discussions on key aspects of company formation and governance. The programme will cover incorporation procedures including SPICe+ registration, Private Limited Companies, Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs), and One Person Companies (OPCs).

Officials stated that the workshop will also focus on statutory compliances, responsibilities of directors, and regulatory obligations under company law. In addition, guidance will be provided on fundraising mechanisms such as private placement and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), along with provisions related to dormant company status.

The initiative is positioned to support business formalisation, encourage investment readiness, and align with national programmes such as Startup India and Make in India, which aim to strengthen entrepreneurship and employment generation.

The workshop is targeted at a wide range of participants, including existing owners of Private Limited Companies, LLPs and OPCs, aspiring entrepreneurs, unregistered business operators, innovators, and representatives of industry associations. Authorities expect the session to address practical challenges faced by businesses, including risks such as strike-offs and compliance failures.

By focusing on legal and procedural clarity, the programme aims to support small businesses and startups in scaling operations while ensuring adherence to regulatory frameworks.

Interested participants have been requested to attend the workshop directly on April 24 at 9 am at the Conference Hall, Directorate of Industries, Middle Point. Registration will be conducted on-site.

For further clarification, participants may contact the Assistant Director (Technical) at 9476029393.

The initiative reflects a structured push towards improving ease of doing business awareness in the islands and equipping entrepreneurs with knowledge required for sustainable enterprise growth.
