Electors Urged to Submit Enumeration Forms Ahead of Draft Electoral Roll Publication

Date:

The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Andaman & Nicobar Islands, has urged all electors across the Islands to promptly submit their duly filled Enumeration Forms to their respective Booth Level Officers (BLOs) as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of the electoral roll. The revision is being conducted with reference to January 1, 2026, as the qualifying date.

According to officials, BLOs have already distributed pre-filled Enumeration Forms in duplicate during the enumeration phase. Electors are now required to return the completed and signed forms without delay to ensure their names are included in the Draft Electoral Roll scheduled for publication on December 9, 2025.

BLOs are currently visiting households to collect the forms and are also providing necessary guidance regarding form submission, mapping, and corrections. Electors who have not yet received the Enumeration Form have been advised to contact their respective BLO immediately or reach out to the Voter Helpline at 1950 for assistance.

The CEO, A&N Islands, L. Kumar, IAS, has appealed to all eligible voters to cooperate by submitting their forms at the earliest. He emphasized that only those electors who return their signed Enumeration Forms will be included in the upcoming Draft Electoral Roll.

The Election Office has reiterated that public cooperation is critical to ensuring a transparent, accurate, and error-free electoral roll. The revision aims to uphold the commitment of the Election Commission to guarantee that no eligible voter is left out and no ineligible person is included in the rolls.

With the deadline approaching, the administration has encouraged electors to verify their details, complete the forms carefully, and ensure timely submission. Officials stressed that an updated and accurate electoral roll is essential for smooth election processes and safeguarding voters’ democratic rights.

The Special Intensive Revision continues across all constituencies, with BLOs deployed to assist residents throughout the process. The CEO’s office has urged community members, local leaders, and institutions to help spread awareness and support electors in completing the mandatory formalities.

A press release from the CEO’s office reiterated the importance of citizen participation, stating that an error-free and inclusive electoral roll forms the backbone of a fair and transparent electoral system in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
