Sri Vijaya Puram, November 5: The cancellation of a scheduled vessel service between Sri Vijaya Puram and Little Andaman has prompted the Directorate of Shipping Services (DSS) to arrange an alternative sailing, requiring passengers to change their travel plans and secure fresh bookings for the revised service.
The DSS announced on November 4 that MV Sentinel’s scheduled voyage to Little Andaman had been cancelled due to administrative reasons. The vessel was originally scheduled to depart from Sri Vijaya Puram at 8 am on November 8, with its return journey from Little Andaman planned for 8 pm the same day.
Passengers holding tickets for the cancelled service have been instructed to cancel their bookings and claim a full refund. The cancellation affects both the outward and return journeys, leaving passengers required to make alternative travel arrangements.

To facilitate travel on the same route, the Directorate has arranged MV North Passage to operate the service instead. The vessel will depart from Phoenix Bay Jetty at 6.30 am and return from Little Andaman at 1 pm on November 8.
However, passengers seeking to use the replacement service will have to book fresh tickets, with reservations opening to the general public on November 6 at 9 am.
The DSS will make tickets available through its online e-ticketing portal and at STARS ticketing counters. A QR code linking directly to the online booking platform has also been provided to facilitate access to the reservation system.
The revised sailing arrangement changes both the departure and return timings compared with the cancelled MV Sentinel service, making it important for passengers to check their revised travel schedules before proceeding with their journeys.
