Sri Vijaya Puram, October 27: Training on pay fixation, Modified Assured Career Progression (MACP) and the Right to Information (RTI) Act is being conducted for clerical cadre employees of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration, with a five-day programme inaugurated at Tagore Government College of Education (TGCE).
The programme is organised by the Administration’s Administrative Reforms and Training Wing (AR&Trg.) in collaboration with the Institute of Secretariat Training and Management (ISTM), under the Union government’s Department of Personnel and Training. It is designed for staff belonging to the Administration’s Amalgamated Clerical Cadre.
The subjects covered by the training relate to pay fixation, career progression and access to information. The programme brings together these areas of administrative work within a single training schedule for the targeted employees.
Satnam Singh, Secretary in charge of Administrative Reforms and Training and the Public Grievances Cell, inaugurated the programme as chief guest. He underscored the importance of continuous capacity building in ensuring efficient administration.
ISTM has deputed Rizwana Bano, Deputy Director at the institute, to deliver specialised training during the programme. S.P.S. Parihar, also a Deputy Director at ISTM, is scheduled to join the training on October 28, 2026.
The five-day course is being held in the seminar gallery of TGCE. The collaboration between the island administration’s training wing and ISTM forms the institutional framework for the programme, which focuses on the administrative responsibilities of clerical cadre staff.
