Sri Vijaya Puram, October 27: Lieutenant Governor Dr. Dinesh Sharma has called on government officers and employees to uphold integrity in public service, reject bribery and strengthen grievance redressal and whistle-blower mechanisms as part of Vigilance Awareness Week 2026.
Sharma administered the integrity pledge to officers and employees at Lok Niwas on October 26, urging them to follow rules and regulations and maintain honesty, transparency, accountability and impartiality while discharging their official responsibilities.
The pledge places emphasis on ethical conduct in government functioning, including a commitment not to give or accept bribes. It also calls for greater attention to mechanisms through which grievances can be addressed and wrongdoing reported.

The Lieutenant Governor urged employees to apply these principles in their day-to-day duties, linking integrity with accountability in the discharge of official responsibilities. His message covered both individual conduct and the institutional mechanisms needed to address complaints and support the reporting of misconduct.
The observance forms part of Vigilance Awareness Week 2026, during which the administration is highlighting ethical standards and vigilance in public service.
The emphasis on grievance redressal and whistle-blower mechanisms brings attention to the systems available to raise concerns about official conduct, alongside the pledge’s focus on personal responsibility and compliance with rules.
The programme was held at Lok Niwas, the Lieutenant Governor’s office in Sri Vijaya Puram. The pledge was administered to the officers and employees present as part of the week’s observance.
