Sri Vijaya Puram, October 23: Access to specialist medical consultations closer to home was the focus of a health camp organised at the Community Health Centre (CHC), Bambooflat, where more than 90 patients received consultations across three medical specialities.
Sri Vijaya Puram Guru Ki Rasoi (PBGKR), in collaboration with Health 4U Multi Speciality Clinic, organised the camp to provide residents with access to specialist healthcare without requiring them to travel long distances for consultations.
The medical team comprised Dr. Sornalatha, a gynaecologist; Dr. Megha Kakani, a dermatologist; and Dr. Gayatri, an ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialist. The doctors examined patients with different health concerns and provided medical advice within their respective specialities.

The initiative focused on bringing consultations in women’s health, skin-related conditions and ENT care to the community health centre, making these services available at a local healthcare facility.
The organisers said the camp sought to address difficulties faced by residents in accessing specialist medical services, particularly in island communities where travelling to other locations for consultations can present challenges.
PBGKR founder and president Mandeep Grewal acknowledged the involvement of the Health 4U medical team and CHC Bambooflat staff in conducting the programme.
He said the organisation would continue to focus on healthcare initiatives for economically disadvantaged and underserved communities across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
According to PBGKR, the Bambooflat programme marked its 48th health camp since the organisation began its community healthcare activities.
The organisation said it intends to continue arranging specialist consultations in remote and underserved areas, with the aim of improving access to medical advice for residents who may otherwise need to travel for such services.
The camp formed part of its ongoing community healthcare outreach activities in the Union Territory.
