Two Rash and Negligent Driving Cases End in Convictions Before Mayabunder Court

Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 8: Two road accident cases involving rash and negligent driving have ended in convictions before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Mayabunder, with both cases decided within three months of the respective FIRs being registered.

In the first case, the court convicted the accused on September 28 in connection with FIR No. 51/26, registered at Diglipur police station on July 4. The case involved rash and negligent driving that caused injuries to the victim. The accused was sentenced to pay a fine of ₹16,000.

The second conviction followed on September 29 in a case registered at Kadamtala police station under FIR No. 15/26 dated July 15. The accused was convicted for rash and negligent driving that resulted in injuries to the victim and was ordered to pay a fine of ₹5,500.

The two cases were brought to conviction within three months of the registration of their respective FIRs, according to the information provided by the North and Middle Andaman Police.

The convictions concern road-safety violations in which negligent driving resulted in injuries to victims. The cases were prosecuted before the Chief Judicial Magistrate at Mayabunder, who imposed monetary penalties on the convicted accused.

The Diglipur case was registered on July 4 and concluded with the conviction and ₹16,000 fine on September 28. The Kadamtala case was registered on July 15 and resulted in a conviction and ₹5,500 fine on September 29.

The cases underscore the legal consequences following road accidents involving rash and negligent driving, with the court proceedings resulting in convictions and fines in both matters.

According to the police, the cases were investigated and prosecuted before the court, leading to the respective convictions. The North and Middle Andaman Police said the outcomes reflect its efforts to pursue accountability in cases involving negligent driving and injuries to road users.

The two convictions come from separate police stations and involve different accident cases, with the court imposing fines of ₹16,000 in the Diglipur matter and ₹5,500 in the Kadamtala case.
