Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 29: Workers raised a range of problems, grievances and issues affecting the labour community before national-level leadership at an INTUC Federation meeting held at the RGPRS office in Wimberlygunj, providing a direct forum for concerns to be placed before the organisation’s top representatives.
INTUC Federation National President Swaminath Jaiswal attended the meeting as chief guest, while National Senior Vice President Rajesh Ghariyal was the guest of honour. The meeting brought together senior federation leaders, representatives of the local organisation and a large number of workers.
Jaiswal heard the concerns raised by workers during the meeting and assured them that necessary steps would be taken in the interest of the labour community. The discussions centred on issues and grievances presented by workers, with the meeting providing an opportunity for them to communicate their concerns directly to national leadership.
The programme was held in the presence of INTUC Federation National Secretary and Co-Incharge for Assam, Kerala and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands O. Bashir, State President K. P. Usman and State Vice President Senthil Kumar, along with other senior leaders and workers.
Kanyapuram Pradhan P. Abdul Basheer, RGPRS State Organisation Secretary M. Abdul Jaleel and RGPRS District Organisation Secretary Vinod also attended the meeting.
Addressing the gathering, Usman, Bashir and Senthil Kumar spoke about workers’ rights and concerns and stressed the need to further strengthen the organisation.
The meeting also served as a platform for discussions on workers’ welfare, with participants focusing on concerns brought forward by members of the labour community. The direct interaction with national leadership placed the issues raised by workers at the centre of the proceedings.
The programme concluded with workers expressing confidence in the organisation’s continued efforts to raise and address their concerns. Participants also maintained an enthusiastic atmosphere as the meeting ended.
The Wimberlygunj meeting brought together national, state and local-level representatives of the INTUC Federation and RGPRS, allowing workers to place their concerns before leaders across different levels of the organisation.
