The All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) has elected a new state committee for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, with Dr Gouranga Majhi chosen as President, Aviram Mazumdar as Secretary and KP Paul as Treasurer at the organisation’s sixth State Conference in Diglipur on September 8, 2026.
The conference, held in Diglipur, North Andaman, also elected PK Sarkar, SR Mridha, Nikunjo Biswas and Dilip Karmakar as Vice Presidents. P. Sathyapal, Prakash Sardar and Suresh Chowkidar were elected Joint Secretaries of the new state committee.

A total of 15 members, including one Special Invitee, were elected to the State Committee during the conference.
The conference also selected four delegates to represent the Andaman and Nicobar Islands at the 36th All India Conference of the AIKS. Dr Gouranga Majhi, Aviram Mazumdar, SR Mridha and Dilip Karmakar will attend the national conference, scheduled to be held in Nalgonda, Telangana, from November 15 to 18, 2026.
The leadership changes and delegate selection were among the key organisational decisions taken at the sixth State Conference, which brought the state-level body under a newly elected committee.
With the election of the office-bearers and other committee members, the AIKS has completed the formation of its new State Committee for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The four elected delegates will subsequently represent the state organisation at the AIKS’s 36th All India Conference in Telangana in November.
